Non-Cooking Recipes

Conversions/Substitutions
-Baking Powder (3/4 tsp) = 1/2 tsp of cream of tartar + 1/4 tsp of baking soda

-Egg (1) = 1 Tbs ground flax seed + 3 Tbs water

-Powdered Sugar (~2 cups) = 2 cups sugar + 2 Tbs cornstarch; blend in a blender until powdered

-Self-rising Flour (~1 cup) = 1 cup flour + 1 1/2 tsp baking powder + 1/4 tsp salt

Mixes/Seasonings
-Burger seasoning (Fuddruckers): 2 tsp paprika, 1 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

-Hot Cocoa: 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 3/4 cup of sugar, pinch of salt

-Pork seasoning: 2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 2 tsp paprika, 1 tsp dried thyme, 1/4 tsp blackened seasoning, 1/8-1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

-Taco Beef seasoning (for 1 lb beef): 2 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp corn starch, 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp oregano, 1/2 cup water

-Taco John's Potato Olé seasoning: 4 tsp seasoned salt, 2 tsp paprika,1 tsp cayenne pepper, 1 tsp cumin

Canning
Broth: 10 lbs pressure for 20 minutes (pints) or 25 minutes (quarts)
Cubed Pumpkin: 10 lbs pressure for 55 minutes (pints)
Soup: 10 lbs pressure for 60 minutes (pints) or 75 minutes (quarts); 100 minutes if contains seafood
